Waitlist & Invite Codes

Early Access: Waitlist and Invite Codes

Coffeescribe is currently in private early access. Getting in requires an invite code. This article explains how the waitlist works, what invite codes are, and how to redeem one at signup.

Joining the Waitlist

If you land on the Coffeescribe homepage without an invite code, you'll see a waitlist form in the hero section. Enter your email address and submit — you'll get a short confirmation message and your spot is held.

When invite codes go out, the first people on the waitlist (ordered by when they signed up) are contacted by email. Each email contains a unique, one-time invite code for that person only.

What Is an Invite Code?

An invite code is a short alphanumeric string in the format CS-XXXX-XXXX (for example, CS-AB34-7KJ9). Each code:

  • Is generated specifically for you — it isn't shared.
  • Can only be used once (or a small number of times, depending on how it was issued).
  • Grants a token credit to your new account when redeemed.
  • Has no expiry unless you are told otherwise.

If you received a code from a friend, you can use it exactly the same way as a waitlist invite.

Signing Up With an Invite Code

  1. Go to /signup.
  2. Enter your email address and choose a password.
  3. Paste your invite code into the Invite code field.
  4. Click Create account.
  5. Enter the 6-digit verification code sent to your inbox.
  6. Once verified, your invite code is redeemed automatically — tokens are added to your balance and you are signed straight into the app.

The invite code field is required during private early access. Submitting the form without a valid code will show an error.

After Redeeming a Code

Once redeemed:

  • Your token credit appears in your account immediately.
  • You are automatically signed in and taken to the Library — no separate login step.
  • The code is marked used. Attempting to sign up again with the same code will be rejected.

Sign Up Method: Email Only

During private early access, signup is by email and invite code only. Google and GitHub OAuth are available on the login page for accounts that already exist, but they cannot be used to create a new account at this time.

I'm on the Waitlist — What Now?

Check your inbox. When your code is ready, you'll receive an email from Coffeescribe with your personal invite link or code. Codes go out in batches as capacity is opened up.

In the meantime, you can browse the public library at /library without signing in.

Troubleshooting

"Invalid or expired invite code"

  • Check you copied the full code, including all characters and dashes.
  • Codes are case-insensitive, but watch out for 0 (zero) vs O (letter O) — the code format deliberately avoids ambiguous characters, so if you're seeing an error double-check for typos.
  • If the code was already used (by you or someone else), it will be rejected. Contact the person who gave you the code.

I didn't get a confirmation email after joining the waitlist

  • Check your spam or promotions folder.
  • The confirmation is sent immediately, so if nothing arrives within a few minutes, try submitting again — the waitlist is idempotent (submitting the same email twice won't create a duplicate entry).

I got a verification code email but the invite code field is showing an error

  • The 6-digit code in your inbox is your email verification code, not your invite code. Your invite code is the CS-XXXX-XXXX string from the invitation email you received earlier.
